6. Cambodia’s UK Export up 20% in March, but cuts Luxury car Import on sluggish economy

Cambodia’s exports to the UK rose 20% in March 2025, reaching $1.12 billion, mainly driven by clothing, footwear, cereals, and travel goods. 7. US President Trump threaten higher Tariffs on India over Russian oil Trade

U.S. President Donald Trump accused India of profiting from reselling Russian oil and financing Russia’s war in Ukraine. In response, he announced a sharp increase in tariffs on Indian goods, following an earlier 25% hike.

8. Jan-Jul rice exports jump 15%, generate $1.2 Billion

From January to July 2025, Cambodia earned over $1.2 billion from rice exports—a 15% increase from 2024. The country exported 420,572 tons of milled rice and 3.87 million tons of paddy rice to 65 countries, with Europe, China, and ASEAN as top buyers.

Fragrant rice dominated exports (77.65%). Government support, including tax breaks and infrastructure upgrades, helped boost production and competitiveness.

9. CBC: Personal loans for small business drop nearly 20% in Q2

Loan applications from small businesses dropped 15.7%, reflecting reduced demand across most sectors. Despite this, total loan balances rose slightly to $35.54 billion, showing continued borrowing. However, credit stress is rising—7.4% of loan accounts are now overdue by over 90 days, with the construction sector and Tonle Sap region seeing the highest delinquency rates.

10. Minister: All Procedures for buying, selling and transferring real estate in Cambodia will no longer go through village and commune heads because…..

Starting July 2025, all real estate transactions in Cambodia—buying, selling, transferring, or proposing—must be done online, no longer through village or commune heads. This shift, announced by Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, aims to streamline services and improve accessibility for citizens. The Ministry of Land Management and Ministry of Interior jointly launched the digital system, aligning Cambodia with global practices and modernizing its property sector. Some services may still require in-person visits, but the primary process is now fully digital.
